Oven baked Fish Fingers (recipe coming soon) |
Now that my son is getting older and doing great with finger foods, I want to recreate some of the classic convenience foods and make them healthy. These crumbs are a great substitution when a recipe calls for traditional bread crumbs.
Note: Be sure to salt your meat of veggy before using these crumbs. There is salt already in recipe but you may find you want a little more. Taste prepared crumbs and add more seasonings if needed.
Note: To make dairy free, omit the Parmesan Cheese and add 1/2 cup more almond flour and 1/4 tsp more salt.
Breadless Bread Crumbs
1 cup Almond flour
1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Tony's Chachere Seasoning (or other favorite no msg seasoning)
1 tsp dried Parsley
1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Tony's Chachere Seasoning (or other favorite no msg seasoning)
1 tsp dried Parsley
- Mix all ingredients in Ziploc bag or plastic storage container and refrigerate until needed.
Do you think these crumbs would work in place of bread crumbs in a meatloaf?
ReplyDeleteYes Anne, these crumbs are great in meatloafs and meatballs!
ReplyDeleteWhat about for stuffing? I have a fantastic recipe for stuffing but, not sure about the bread crumbs now. Would these work?
ReplyDeleteI can't have any nuts... :( What could I substitute?
ReplyDeleteMaybe ground golden flax seeds would work.
DeleteCoconut flour may work well also.
